I have worked closely with Jack Regan for almost 25 years both professionally and personally. This began when I was an ophthalmology resident in the early 1990s, then as an ophthalmology Program Director for the US Navy and most recently as the Chief Medical Director for a large ophthalmic practice and as a consultant to Carl Zeiss Meditec.

Jack has extensive knowledge in the field of ophthalmology, especially in the use of advanced technology and diagnostics. He not only understands the complexity of new technology, but also how it should best be utilized in clinical practice. To this end he has provided me, and many others, invaluable advice and guidance over the years. Taking his expert advice, we have acquired and very successfully employed innovative technology to improve the care we provide patients.

I thoroughly enjoy working with Jack. He has the highest integrity, completely trustworthy, always available to answer a question and is cheerful, friendly, personable and engaging. I consider him a close friend.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Jack Regan for over 25 years. I first met Jack after I finished my glaucoma fellowship training. Jack was starting out with Allergan Humphrey, which later became part of Zeiss. At the time he gave me needed advice regarding available technology required to start up a glaucoma practice. Since that initial encounter I’ve continued to depend on Jack’s honest and straightforward counsel over my nearly 30 years of practice.

Over the years the small practice became a seven physician multispecialty group and Jack rose to Vice President for sales of the US division of Carl Zeiss Meditec. Through those many years of practice, ophthalmology has seen many changes, as has the technology used in the profession. Jack’s counsel regarding those technology changes and how to best incorporate them into the practice has been essential. I could always depend on Jack’s excellent knowledge of the field, especially when it came to discussing technology trends in ophthalmology, both from the point of view of the equipment he represented and the other available choices, giving fair appraisal of the strengths and weaknesses of both.

Even as Jack rose in the corporate ranks, he has always remained accessible, I appreciate Jask as more than just a “salesman”, he has become a friend and a trusted advisor. Jack is a highly affable individual, and has keen business skills and insights which will serve him, and his customers, well in any field he chooses to pursue.

I have known Jack Regan for at least a decade and probably longer. Jack served most recently as Vice-President for Sales, U.S. Ophthalmic Systems for Carl Zeiss Meditec and in a number of other roles prior to that. As an Advisory Board member for Zeiss as well as a member of the academic optometric community who had a particular interest in products that could be used to manage glaucoma and retinal diseases, I had regular interaction with him.

Jack is a reliable, honest and professional individual who represented his company incredibly well. He knew expertly the Zeiss product line from both a technical and sales perspective but also was able to acknowledge and recognize the weaknesses and position of these products in the eye care technology space. I always felt I was dealing with a straight shooter when dealing with Jack, as he never failed to provide an honest appraisal of anything we discussed. Jack was also able to infuse his professional interactions with a level of warmth and humor consistent with his engaging personality. I know I can safely speak for many others who feel similarly about their relationship with him.

Jack Regan is a dedicated professional whose personality, expertise and ethos have made my relationship with him one of admiration and respect. Jack is sure to be successful in any endeavor that he chooses.

Jack Regan is a man whom I have known and worked with extensively during his 27 years at Carl Zeiss Meditec. During this time there, Jack became one of the key leaders in the organization for obvious reasons. In addition to being a gifted leader and tremendously hard worker, he is a man of utmost integrity. His devotion and loyalty to serving the best interests of physicians and their patients are unquestioned. As he embarks on this new adventure, I am confident that those who work with him and his new company will experience a level of customer service and advocacy which they may never have experienced before. I consider myself extremely fortunate to be able to call Jack my friend, and fully expect him to excel in this new endeavor.

Colleagues and Friends:

It is with great pleasure that I write to you concerning Jack Regan. I’ve known Jack both personally and professionally for 10+ years. He has long been a supporter of both my practice and professional journey. From our early days of a single doctor independent optometry practice to a multi-doctor OD/MD group I’ve come to regard Jack’s candor and counsel as invaluable.

Jack’s understanding of the entire eye care market is refreshing. His ability to lend support and build bridges between ophthalmology and optometry extends far beyond the responsibilities of the various positions he held while with Zeiss Meditec. Jack possess a clear grasp of the keys to creating collaborative relationships in an intensely competitive healthcare marketplace.

In addition, I value that Jack understands how technology must be employed to support the doctor patient relationship. Increasingly the pressures of efficiency and reimbursements seem to plague corporate ophthalmic strategy. Jack is able to balance both to benefit his professional allegiance and the integrity of patient care. Our  industry should wish to have more individuals like Jack Regan.

It is with strong conviction that I submit this endorsement of Jack, a friend and consummate professional.

I have known Jack Regan since he was an “infant” in the ophthalmic sales business. I have watched him grow from this stage to becoming the Vice President of Sales – US Ophthalmic Systems for Carl Zeiss Meditec, Inc.

During this period of time over 27 years he has maintained his friendly personality, his honesty and responsiveness to clients’ needs. Even with salesman under him, I could go to Jack with any questions about instruments or purchases.

I look at Jack as an old friend.
